Special Edition Ramadan Post
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ,
Ramadan Mubarak from our family to yours <3. This week's post contains some tips we've found to make the most out of Ramadan, my favourite Ramadan resource and some pictures of how others are celebrating the month.
I'd love to hear your goals this Ramadan so feel free to reply to this email.
My goal: Feed as many fasting people as I can.
Let's dive in.
Ramadan Tips:
Set clear goals: The first step to making the most out of Ramadan is to set your intentions. This means that you should make a commitment to yourself to use this month to focus on your spiritual growth and to become closer to Allah. Remember that the purpose of Ramadan is not just to abstain from food and drink, but to use this time to strengthen your relationship with Allah.
Increase your salah: Ramadan is a time of increased devotion, so try to increase your prayers and supplications during this month. Attend congregational prayers at your local mosque, perform extra voluntary prayers at home, and make dua for yourself, your family, and the ummah.
Plan your schedule: During Ramadan, you'll need to adjust your schedule to accommodate fasting and additional prayers. Plan your meals, work, and other activities around your fasting schedule. This will help you avoid unnecessary stress and allow you to focus on your goals.
Give to charity: Ramadan is a time for generosity and giving. Use this opportunity to give to those in need by donating to charity, volunteering your time, or simply helping out a neighbour or friend.
Read the Quran: Ramadan is the best time to increase your reading of the Quran. Take some time each day to read a few pages or chapters of the Quran. You can also attend lectures or join a Quran study group to deepen your understanding of the holy book.
Avoid negative habits: Finally, use Ramadan as a time to break negative habits and cultivate positive ones. For example: avoiding gossip, anger, and other negative behaviours, and focusing on being kind, patient, and compassionate toward others.
